Pledge Envelopes Available We are trying something different this year. As many people do not use envelopes, we were trying to assess how many we actually need and not waste dozens. If you use pledge envelopes at any time during the year, that's great! Just call/email/or stop by the office (301-942-4673) and let our Parish Administrator, Peter Hanke know.
Youth Group Retreat   The Youth Group is on retreat to Pendle Hill Quaker Community in Philadelphia this weekend, so regular youth group is cancelled today.
Nursery, Children's Chapel and Sunday School:
At Chapel, we are learning about Jesus' first miracle. At Sunday School, all students are asked to follow Miss Ann and the Cross to the Lower Level Classrooms, where we will enjoy a variety of age-appropriate scripture stories and crafts.  Godly Play students will learn that God is always with us as they hear about the Ark and the Tent before making a menorah. Students in Grades 1-5 will make Dove crafts as they learn about the Gifts of the Holy Spirit and talk about which gifts Dr. King used as a peacemaker.
Bible Study at 4PM Today All are welcome! No prior preparation is necessary and feel free to drop in any week. Questions? Please contact Lee Puricelli (
Communications from the Office. There have been two occasions recently when someone has sent emails that appear to be from Emily Guthrie requesting assistance. Please do not respond to those emails. Two ways to check if emails from me are authentic: 1) look at the sender's email address. The imposter emails have in both cases come from a different address, created in gmail, or another provider. My emails will come from 2) Not sure? Forward the email to me and ask, or call/text my cell phone, or call the office. Finally, both times the imposter asked for iTunes cards! I won't ever ask for those. I'm sorry for the confusion.
Personnel News: Our sexton Lenord Hawkins' schedule has been adjusted from 40 to 32 hours a week. He will work his usual hours 7:00am - 3:00pm on Mon, Tues, Thurs, and Friday. The vestry and rector's decision was based on budgetary needs and more importantly a long needed right sizing of the job. Lenord is a treasured employee who has worked at CC for almost 30 years, we truly appreciate him!
Hearty thanks: to all who made church happen at the 8 and 10am services last snowy Sunday! Special thanks to Charlie Briggs, Bob Durbin and Nora Buckley.
