Special Second Collection for the

Rector’s Discretionary Fund

As we enter this season of gratitude, we are reminded of the many blessings God has placed in our lives. In the spirit of thankfulness and generosity, we will take up a special second collection this Sunday to support the Rector’s Discretionary Fund.

This fund allows our Rector to offer immediate assistance to individuals and families in need—providing help, hope, and compassion at moments when it is needed most. Your gift, no matter the size, becomes a tangible expression of Christ’s love in our community.

As we give thanks for all we have received, let us also use what we have to lift up others. Thank you for your prayerful support and for sharing the blessings of this season.

The Community Thanksgiving Service is November 25, 2025 @ 7:00 pm. It will be hosted by Anshe Emeth, 222 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ 08901, https://www.aemt.net/.

We will continue with the “Breaking Bread Together” theme.

Photo Directory Photoshoot

On Sunday, December 7, from 9:00am-12:30pm, Donna Gioia Volpe Photography will be on site to take portraits for the Christ Church Photo Directory.

Please plan to get your photo taken on one of these two dates for inclusion in the directory. All names and contact information will be included even if a photo is not available.

This is a great opportunity to get a formal portrait for yourselves too! This is an added fundraising opportunity for the church.

The cost for the digital download, where pictures will be lightly edited, is $25.00. The photos will be sent to you via email for download and printing through your favorite service.

Advent from the Manger

Christ Church invites you to experience Advent this year from the perspective of the manger. Hunger is a universal experience, drawing attention to our most basic and complex needs. We await Jesus, who nourishes us and our hungry world. At the back of the church please pick up these From the Manger resources: Advent Calendar, Advent for Families, and Advent Devotional for Adults.

Adult Advent Series

This Advent we invite you to reflect on the life-sustaining hope, peace, joy, and love that Jesus brings and to notice how the baby born in Bethlehem (“House of Bread”) continues to feed a hungry world today. We shall use the From the Manger Advent Devotional as the basis of our discussions. You may pick up a copy from the back of the church or read it online at https://tinyurl.com/4jy8497y. Join Deacon Daphne and Jonathan Clark for the following Monday sessions, 7:00-8:00 pm, via Zoom at this link: https://tinyurl.com/mwhb4yhw. You will be able to participate whether or not you have read ahead of time.

Monday, 12/1 — Advent One: “Hope Grows”

Monday, 12/8 — Advent Two: “Peace Grows”

Monday, 12/15 — Advent Three: “Joy Grows”
