Fr. Scott is usually very careful and not easily fooled, but they got him too!

Supporting Families at

Delaney Hall

We are pleased to share that ECS-NJ will be working with the Diocese of Newark to support families of people being held at Delaney Hall.

One of the needs identified for this program is grocery store gift cards, which can provide practical support to families during a difficult time.

We are asking for your help! You can support this effort by using Raise Right to purchase ShopRite or Stop & Shop gift cards. Your purchase will help provide groceries and essential support to families in our community.

Thank you for helping ECS-NJ and the Diocese of Newark care for and support these families. Every gift makes a difference!

Join members of Christ Church

Choice Food and Resource Center

January to August, 2026 Update

Volunteers: With heavy hearts, we bid goodbye to Mark McMahon as he prepares for his move. In September, we welcomed Mary Lou Taylor who will be helping register guests. As always, we thank Doug Bonar for his continued service and Pat Buckendahl for inventory assistance. Together we help our neighbors access an assortment of fresh and shelf-stable foods as well as personal care products and other items supplied by the Community Food Bank of NJ, REPLENISH (the Middlesex County food bank), Amazon, and private donations such as your support through Christ Church’s Food Pantry account.

So far this year, Laundry Love has been incredibly helpful to our New Brunswick area neighbors. We started 2026 with 42 cards left over from 2025. January 2025 only 21 out of a possible 32 families came to the Handy St. Laundromat because of weather. In February we stopped in-person Laundry Love sessions because of the presence of I.C.E. on Handy Street. Our numbers did not return to the available 42 cards a month until the fall.
