Help Us Support Gabe

Gabe is 18 years old and working hard to build a stable life for himself.

After his mother died by suicide years ago, Gabe has bounced around in multiple states starting in upstate NY, moved to Nebraska and ended up in NJ. His most recent foster family moved on from him because he turned 18 and they are not receiving financial income by having him. After aging out of foster care, Gabe unexpectedly found himself without the support system he had depended on. He is currently staying at a men's shelter while working to figure out his next steps and become more independent.

He recently began his senior year of high school and has to walk almost 3 miles every day to school. His only income is GA $185 per month which goes to his cell phone bill and hygiene items. Despite the many challenges he has faced, he is a young man who deserves the opportunity to have the basic necessities and support needed to move forward.

We are currently looking for donations of:

A bicycle — to help Gabe get to school

 Clothing — Men's Large,

Pants size 36

 Shoes — Men's 10.5–11

These may seem like simple items, but for a young person starting out on his own, they can make a tremendous difference. A bicycle can provide transportation to work, appointments, errands, and other opportunities, while appropriate clothing and shoes can help him feel prepared and confident as he takes his next steps.

If you have any of these items to donate, we would be incredibly grateful.

Our goal is simple: help Gabe have the basic tools and support he needs to become independent and build a positive future.

Thank you for considering helping this young man get a fresh start.

It's getting to be time for the September Christ Church RaiseRight! Order Paul Ambos will be placing a new card order on the morning of Tuesday, September 8 (the day after Labor Day). He will not be in church on the Sunday, September 6. Please place your orders accordingly.

The Tuesdayers' Next Book: "Simply Jesus: A New Vision of Who He Was, What He Did, and Why He Matters”

We have grown used to the battles over Jesus—whether he was human or divine, whether he could do miracles or just inspire them, whether he even existed. Much of the church defends tradition, while critics take shots at the institution and its beliefs. But what if these debates have masked the real story of Jesus? The renowned Bible scholar and Anglican bishop N. T. Wright breaks down the barriers that prevent us from fully engaging with the story of Jesus in the Bible to reveal a breathtaking vision of Christ that matches the needs and complexities of our time. The Tuesdayers invite you to join our discussions beginning September 8. We meet most Tuesdays, 7:00–8:30 pm via Zoom. For more information, contact Jonathan Clark at im4canoes@yahoo.com.

Calligrapher Jane Otto will be showing her artwork, Lamentation, at Christ Church Wednesday evening, September 23, 2026 at 6:30 p.m.

Inspired by illuminated manuscripts, Lamentation suggests a path to healing through reparations. The accompanying talk about reparations will complement the art with a more concrete and data-driven approach that includes the foundation, precedents, and logistics for an effective plan for acknowledgement, redress and closure.

Please join us for a lively evening of art and discussion, with reception to follow.  Sponsored by the Reparations Commission of the Episcopal Diocese of New Jersey.

Join St. Alban’s online each Thursday evening from 7pm- 8pm for Prayer Meeting and Bible Study. St. Alban’s has encouraged the wider community to join us and many of the attendees come from different congregations locally as well as internationally.

We invite people to testify if they are prayerfully led and also encourage them to send their prayer requests in advance if they wish. Some attendees come prepared from time to time to not only testify, but to give a word of encouragement.

Please see the Zoom invitation below.
