Dr. Jennifer Wiseman
This Sunday, we are honored to have Dr. Jennifer Wiseman as our guest preacher. Dr. Wiseman is an astronomer, author, and speaker. She studies the process of star and planet formation in our galaxy using radio, optical, and infrared telescopes, and is a senior astrophysicist at the Goddard Space Flight Center. She is also interested in national science policy and public science engagement, and directs the program of Dialogue on Science, Ethics, and Religion for the American Association for the Advancement of Science. She received her B.S. in physics from MIT, discovering comet Wiseman-Skiff in 1987, and continued her studies at Harvard, earning a Ph.D. in astronomy in 1995.
Dr. Wiseman is a Fellow of the American Scientific Affiliation, a network of Christians in Science. She has authored several essays addressing the relationship of astronomy and faith, and frequently gives public talks on the excitement of scientific discovery. She grew up on an Arkansas farm enjoying late night stargazing walks with her parents and pets.
Adult Forum Today
: At the Adult Forum, Dr Wiseman will speak about "Galaxies, Stars, Planets, and Life: Creation Vast in Space and Time" with photographs from the Hubble Space Telescope.

Community Interfaith Thanksgiving Service This Tuesday
Sunday School & Youth Group
After a gathering activity focused on God's creation of lights to rule the day and the night, we will enjoy a sacred retelling of Creation in picture book format. In song and prayer, we will praise God for the wonders of Creation.
This week, youth group will be combined and joining the rest of the congregation to hear this week's forum speaker, Dr. Jennifer Wiseman.
Bible Study This Sunday at 4PM
Please join us on Sundays as we begin reading Matthew, Mark and Luke in parallel. It should be enlightening and fun to see the differences. Why does Matthew's genealogy of Jesus stop at Abraham but Luke's genealogy continues back to Adam? Come to Bible study and find out the answer and more... All are welcome! in order to have them ready for pickup on the 19th. A $25 Safeway or Giant gift card will
be given to each family so they may purchase the meat/specialty foods of their choice. Bring the food to church, and put it in the last classroom on the upstairs hallway near the Choir Room.

Advent Wreath and Ornament Making on Sunday December 2nd after the 10:00 am service in the Undercroft! Come and enjoy this fun event by making a beautiful Advent wreath, and/or an ornament for your home. All supplies provided. December 5 at 6:30 Parish Dinner to celebrate the eve of St. Nicholas' Feast Day. St. Nicholas is the Patron Saint of Children-of all ages! Join us for supper and help us to decorate the Parish Hall Christmas Tree.

There will be no Children's Chapel, Youth group or Sunday School meeting on Sunday, November 25th. Children should join their families in the service. There will be regular Nursery Care for infants and toddlers.

Confirmation Class Info Session on Sunday, December 9th! Want to learn more about this year's confirmation class? Come to an informational meeting in the youth loft on after youth group, at 12 noon. December 9 11:15-1:15 Pre-Pageant Pizza & Fun! We will gather to fit costumes, rehearse our pageant song, and practice for the pageant. After a pre-pageant pizza party, we will make shoebox Nativity dioramas and ornaments.
December 16 at 10 AM: Our Children's Christmas Pageant will take place during the 10 AM Holy Eucharist. Children of all ages are invited to participate as we need blessed animals, angels, shepherds, and wise people to gather round our Mary, Joseph and our most blessed baby. Our 4th and 5th graders, as well as any interested 6th and 7th graders, are invited to be our readers while the younger children form the pageant tableaux.
