SUNDAY, APRIL 15: MANY THANKS TO ALL WHO ATTENDED the Parish Retreat yesterday, and a special thank-you to Meg Hall for leading the event!

SUNDAY, APRIL 15: TODAY'S ADULT FORUM: What if everything you think you know about addiction is wrong? What really causes addiction-to everything from opioids to smartphones? And how can we overcome it? In light of this being Recovery Sunday for the diocese, join us from 9:15-10:15 a.m. in the Ross Room as we watch and discuss a TED Talk by Johann Hari, who has seen our current methods fail firsthand as he has watched loved ones struggle to manage their addictions. His questions took him around the world, and he unearthed some surprising and hopeful ways of thinking about an age-old problem. Note: Christ Church's own Recovery Sunday has been rescheduled to Sunday, June 17.

SUNDAY, APRIL 15: The Vestry held its Regular Meeting on Tuesday, April 10, 2018. Here are the top three outcomes that the Vestry would like to share with you:

--The Vestry worked on plans for our Parish Meeting on Sunday, April 29th, which will be held in the sanctuary immediately following the single service at 9:30 a.m.

--We provided consent for the Property Committee to move ahead with plans to upgrade the alarm system and change the locks.

--We thanked seminarian Charles Sapp for his excellent service among us this year. Charles's last day with us will be on Pentecost.

For more specific details about any of these items, please contact one of your members of the Vestry!

SATURDAY, APRIL 21, IS RUTGERS' DAY OF SERVICE from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Please join us to greet the students and support them in their efforts to keep the Christ Church buildings and grounds welcoming and beautiful. For more information, contact John Ager at jager@optonline.net or at 609.731.4330.

FRIDAY, APRIL 20: REMINDER FROM THE TREASURER'S TEAM: The final April date for check writing is this Friday, April 20. All vouchers must be in by 10 a.m. to be processed. Thank you!

SUNDAY, APRIL 22 ADULT FORUM: HAPPY EARTH DAY! Catherine Ambos and Karen Bemis will share how their careers in science inform their relationships with God and their perspectives on the Fifth Mark of Mission of the Episcopal Church: "to strive to safeguard the integrity of creation and sustain and renew the life of the earth." How might we as individuals and as a parish become more "marked" by this missional activity? Join us from 9:15-10:15 a.m. in the Children's Chapel.

In our quest for a deepening spirituality as a parish, we invite you to join us in 2018 to read the Bible in a year!

For ADULTS: we will periodically give you a schedule of daily readings (you'll find the first one here: https://goo.gl/umsmPH or in the back of the church. There will be several opportunities during the year (beginning on January 7th at the 9:15 a.m. Forum) to meet and to reflect on how spending time with the Holy Scriptures is transforming your life.

For the CHILDREN: you will find the suggested reading schedule for the children based on the Spark Story Bible here: https://goo.gl/swjp73. You may choose another Bible at the appropriate level for your child/ren (or include them in your own Bible challenge). We will have a few of the Spark Story Bibles for purchase in the back of the church.

Furthermore, we will have a Know Your Story-Live It Boldly: CCNB 2018 Bible Challenge closed FACEBOOK GROUP for inspirations, accountability and updates (https://goo.gl/8BfcGG)!
