The Fifteenth Sunday after Pentecost
"Whoever is faithful in a very little is faithful also in much; and whoever is dishonest in a very little is dishonest also in much. If then you have not been faithful with the dishonest wealth, who will entrust to you the true riches? And if you have not been faithful with what belongs to another, who will give you what is your own? No slave can serve two masters; for a slave will either hate the one and love the other, or be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth." - Luke 16:11-13

Taking the “School” out of Sunday     This fall, we are taking the “school” out of Sunday—but certainly not the learning! On our Sabbath day of rest, we invite children – little and big—( ages 3 - 10+ ) to come together for a Godly Play telling of a sacred scripture story. Then, according to interests and developmental stages, children may choose an individual or collaborative response to the story.  Paint a picture! Build with legos! Make a puppet! Retell the story using our Godly Play materials! Sing a song! Bake a “story” treat for the family!
  • Younger children may wish to work individually or in pairs, as they learn Bible stories and make connections to self.
  • Big kids may enjoy collaborating with one another as they make connections between ancient Bible stories and our world today. Together we will build and serve community as we plan and perform Christian service projects.
  • We need parents help to enact this new vision of Sabbath learning here at Christ Church. Please watch for an email from Ann Enkiri, inviting you to be a classroom volunteer via Sign-Up-Genius. Come play with us!

Youth group this week Agent Carter and knowing your worth   Marvel hero Peggy Carter is a strong, independent woman living in an era when women were expected to stay at home. Agent Carter remains confident even as others doubt her. How can we learn to be more like Peggy? And what does the Bible have to say about knowing our own value? Come find out this Sunday! 11:15 am in the Loft - snacks provided. Questions? Email Madi ( youthminister@ccpk.org )
Bible Study at 4PM on Sunday  Please join us for Bible study as we read Samuel and learn about the rise of Kings over Israel and a young fellow named David! For questions contact Lee Puricelli at leepuricelli@yahoo.com .

Come join us for 30 minutes after work to pray!   Every Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m., some of us come together for a brief time of Evening Prayer with Holy Eucharist. It combines the end-of-the day liturgy with familiar prayers and a time for personal meditation and communion. Come join us for a time of fellowship and prayer; see what a difference it makes in your week!
