This Week at Christ Church
Eleventh Sunday after Pentecost:
Bread of Life - Way of Love Edition
For the next four Sundays, we wander through the 6th chapter of the gospel of John, and allow ourselves time to reflect on abundance, real satisfaction, and what it is to be truly alive. I hope you'll find time to rest with us, reflect with us, and grow in love with us these next weeks. When times are anxiety producing, it's even more important to "dwell in faith, rooted and grounded in love" as the letter to the Ephesians encourages. Check out the Presiding Bishop, the Most Rev. Michael Curry's introduction to the national church's Way of Love   initiative. If you're here, I hope you'll come to services and rest in Love with your family at CC. If you're traveling, I hope you'll rest in Love, wherever you are, and be restored in mind, body and spirit.  Blessings and peace, Emily
It's Backpack Time Again!
Please sponsor a backpack for an Arcola Elementary School first grader; and come help assemble about 60 backpacks on Sunday, August 19th following the 10am service. It's easy:
1. Pick up a Sponsor Kit with instructions from the Outreach table.
2. Return it with a greeting card and donation towards cost of materials. (suggested donation is $18.00).  Please return ASAP so members of the Outreach Committee can do the shopping.
3. Come have fun after the service on the 19th to stuff them with supplies & love!
Many thanks for your generous support of this annual project.
