The Mission Team
Dear Friends,

A task force has been established to determine when and under what circumstances it will be safe to resume worship in our sanctuary. One issue of concern has been how to handle airborne virus transmission. Dr. Bryan Kane, a member of the task force, has shared that air circulation by HVAC systems is a good way of preventing disease providing that we are using appropriate filtering cells.

I contacted Scott Weidner, church member and our contact with Deiter Brothers, about using such cells in our HVAC systems. Scott recommended that we install the REME HALO cell on each HVAC handler. These cells have dual ionizers to reduce airborne particulates (dust, dander, pollen, mold spores) and will

  • Kill up to 99% of bacteria, mold and viruses
  • Reduce sneeze germs by 99% in the time a sneeze can reach three feet
  • New zinc ions kill 99% of viruses on surfaces
  • Is easily integrated with our existing HVAC systems and operates silently

These cells will need to be replaced every two years or every 18,000 – 25,000 hours or use.

The cost of each cell is $594 plus installation and we would need 6 cells. Scott said that Deiter Brothers would generously donate one cell. Doug Hutchinson has installed a cell in his office HVAC system and has generously offered to donate $700 towards the purchase and installation of a second cell. So, two down, four to go.

With the approval of the Consistory I wanted to approach you, our members, to see if you would be willing to make a donation to this project. COVID-19 has changed our lives and I know that you are eager to return to worshiping in our sanctuary again but we must do it safely. These cells are an important element in making sure that our building is safe. If you are willing to make a donation towards this project please make a check payable to the church and designate it CLEAN AIR!

Thank you for the many generous ways you support your church, its mission and ministry.

Peace,
Pastor Bruce
