JUST Pensacola Nehemiah Action

Tuesday, April 28 | 6:00pm | First Baptist Church of Warrington

JUST Pensacola is an organization made up of 17 local faith communities that represent a wide variety of Pensacola and Escambia residents who are ethnically, religiously, and geographically diverse. They are united by a common desire to make Pensacola a better place to live, work, and do business...to make it a more just place for all people. Once a year, these 17 congregations come together in an exciting meeting to generate power to address serious problems in our community. That meeting is called the Nehemiah Action, and this year we are asking our city leaders to provide more awareness for mental health resources in our community. Our church’s goal is to have 265 people attend from our congregation, and we need you!

New ICON Sermon Series: An Unhindered Gospel

Sundays, April 12 - May 24 | The Upper Room

Join us on Sundays this Easter season for our new ICON sermon series, "An Unhindered Gospel," as we explore the Greek concept of akōlytōs—a Gospel that refuses to be stopped by human barriers or institutional gatekeeping. Together, we will discover how the Spirit empowers every person regardless of their starting point, dismantling the idea of the "stranger" to incorporate everyone into a vital, living community. Guided by the Liturgy of Spirit and Flame, we will witness the Holy Spirit’s push for a wider circle of covenant that fully affirms and includes every person. And yes, that means you too.

Vacation Bible School | Space Adventure: Made for Wonder

All children ages 3 (as of September 1, 2025) through (completed) 5th grade are invited to blast off with us this summer on an amazing journey to the stars! Made for Wonder invites kids to explore the vast universe and discover that the same God who created the heavens created them with purpose. Through out-of-this-world adventures, they’ll learn that they are wonderfully made to shine God's light everywhere they go.

Parents are encouraged to join their kids for our 11:00am ICON service in The Upper Room on Sunday, May 31 as we celebrate the start of VBS together.

SERVE TOGETHER

Serve Together

Serve Together is how we live out our calling at First Church — by using our gifts to serve God, one another, and our community. Throughout the year, opportunities are available both inside our church and beyond our walls, and we regularly share an updated Immediate Needs list highlighting where help is most needed right now. Serving is not a one-time event but an ongoing part of life at First Church. Whether you’re already serving or looking for a place to begin, there is a next step for you in this season.

Next Steps:

• Review the Immediate Needs List and Ongoing Opportunities Booklet

• Choose a role that fits your availability and gifts

• Reach out to the ministry leader listed to get connected

The most current opportunities are always available at FUMCPensacola.com/Serve.
