Summer Office Hours

We have transitioned to Summer Office hours. The church office will be open 9am-4pm on Monday-Thursday, and will be closed on Fridays.

Update From VBS & Adventure Music Camp

VBS and Adventure Music Camp are going great! Please continue to keep the kids and all our volunteers in your prayers as we grow in faith, fun and friendship together this week.

New Spiritual Connections Study

Spiritual Connections, a womens study group, is starting Wholehearted Faith by Rachel Held Evans on Monday, August 3 at 6:30pm. Through theological reflection and personal recollection, Rachel wrestles with God’s grace and love, looks unsparingly at what the church is and does, and explores universal human questions about becoming and belonging. All women are encouraged to join the discussion to consider and reflect on this moving and intimate book. Meetings are the first and third Mondays of each month via Zoom at 6:30pm. Contact the church office to connect with the group and obtain the Zoom link.

Summer Movie Night 

Beat the heat with a classic movie night this summer! On Monday, August 10 we’ll see Angels in the Outfield (rated PG) at Uptown Theater (226 N. High St, WC). Filled with humor, heart, and inspiring moments, this family film is about faith, teamwork, and the power of believing in miracles. Invite a friend – the ticket price is covered and includes popcorn! Blood Donations Needed! 

First Pres will be hosting an American Red Cross Blood Drive on Tuesday, August 25 from Noon to 5:00pm in Fellowship Hall. Supplies often drop over the summer due to people being away and schools being off, and this year is no different, as there is an emergency shortage of blood and platelet donations. Please help out and register below.

This Month’s Prayer Request:

Lord of all, as our nation celebrates the anniversary of its founding, we give thanks for the opportunity to worship you freely, to follow you without fear, and for our forebears’ dream of a new land of safety and opportunity. We thank you for people of faith who guided this country's creation, for those prophetic voices that call us back when we fail to live in accordance with our highest values, and for your faithfulness as we strive, and often fail, to work together as you call us to. Help us to live with gratitude for what we’ve inherited, and hope for that which has not yet been realized. In your Son’s name we pray, Amen. 

Each week we pray for our congregation at 12:00pm on Thursdays.

Set an alarm or schedule it in your calendar to join us! You don’t need to only pray for the topic of the week, but you can continue to pray for previous topics as well or anything that God lays on your heart.

For those who would like to set up time to meet one-on-one with someone to navigate a time of transition or difficulty, Stephen Ministers are here to help.
