If you're interested in doing a Bible or Text study on Tuesdays at noon, let Shara or me know. We could brown bag our lunches and have a talk while we eat. We would start on June 17th, with a text study, then decide what we would like to study. Please consider, It's never fun to eat alone and we all have to eat. So let's share a meal and discussion.
We do a book study on Zoom on Tuesdays' at 4:00 PM. No need to have the book or do anything ahead of time. We will read during the class and discuss. We have had some good discussions about passages of the Bible that we don't usually hear in church.
I will be at church every Tuesday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. I am making myself at home in the pastor's old office. Please feel free to stop by (We do have a staff meeting from 10:00 - 10:45). You can reach me other times on my cell phone at 320-815-8158 or my email: kterp101@yahoo.com
I will be out of the office the week of June 8th. Betsy Johnson will be preaching on Sunday, June 15th, and I will be back in the office on the 17th.
Here is a thought for the week:
People were created to be loved. Things were created to be used. The reason the world is in chaos is because things are being loved and people are being used. unknown

Trinity Sunday
Scripture, Reflection, Response, and Prayer
Scripture:
Psalm 8
Yet you have made them a little lower than God,
and crowned them with glory and honor.
You have given them dominion over the works of your hands;
you have put all things under their feet.
(vv. 5-6)
Reflection:
The poem says that the essential reason for us to praise God is that God has created and cares for human beings....
.....(But how, when) not every human being is regarded as being "a little lower than God" and crowned with "glory and honor"?....
Psalm 8, therefore, leads us to worship God the creator with joy and delight in humility. It helps us remember who we are and what we are required to do as God's precious creatures, and it invites us to praise God for the continuous work of creation and recreation of all the world.
EUNJOO MARY KIM
Response:
What does being "a little lower than God" as a human being mean to you? What is joy? What is the responsibility? How could praise increase your humility? What about your accountability?
Prayer:
Holy Trinity, teach me joy and humility as a creature of your world and a steward of the work of your hands. Amen

WEEKEND REFLECTIONS
FURTHER CONNNECTION
It is commonly said that the Trinity is a mystery. And it certainly is....But it is not a mystery veiled in darkness in which we can only grope and guess. It is a mystery in which we are given to understand that we will never know all there is of God....It is not a mystery that keeps us in the dark, but a mystery in which we are taken by the hand gradually led into the light.
EUGENE PETERSON (1932-2018
CHRIST PLAYS IN TEN THOUSAND PLACES
MAKING THE CONNECTIONS
Choose one or two questions for reflection:
- What connections have you noticed between this week's texts and other passages in Scripture?
- What connections have you made between this week's texts and the world beyond Scripture?
- What is God saying to your congregation in particular through this week's readings and commentaries?

SABBATH DAY
SCRIPTURE OF ASSURANCE
Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
(Philippians 4:6)
WEEKLY EXAMEN
- Take a quiet moment, seek out God's presence, and pray for the guidance of the Spirit.
- Consider the past week; recall specific moments and feelings that stand out to you.
- Choose one moment or feeling for deeper examination, thanksgiving, or repentance.
- Let go, breathe deeply, and invite Christ's love to surround and fill you in preparation for the week ahead.
- End with the Lord's Prayer.

It may seem like a small act, but collecting pop can tabs can make a big difference in the lives of others. In fact, since its founding, Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Twin Cities/Duluth chapters have raised over $800,000 to help cover program costs for families on the road, and staying at RMHC houses while their child receives medical care, by collecting tabs to be recycled. Many of these families travel from out of town or out of state, in some cases. So, we have decided to go on this journey with them as part of “Road Trip” VBS 2025.
There will be a large Ronald McDonald House in the Narthex from March 2 through the conclusion of VBS activities on June 29. Please begin saving pop tabs now as we help our VBS “Travelers” make a difference. All VBS families will receive a RMHC pop tab bank to collect tabs in, and then return them on June 29 as we celebrate the end of “Road Trip” VBS!
In addition to collecting pop tabs, we are inviting “Road Trip Travelers” to bring in much needed supplies for RMHC houses. Below is a list of items for VBS families to choose from, and anyone else who would like to contribute. Please bring in your items during VBS, June 22-25.
- puzzles
- balls and outdoor games
- stuffed animals/dolls
- canned goods
- paper towels
- toilet paper
- trash bags
- aluminum foil
- laundry detergent/fabric softener
- dishwasher detergent
- toothpaste/toothbrush
- deodorant
- shampoo/conditioner
| | “Road Trip” VBS 2025 letters and forms have been sent out. Parents, please complete your child’s form and return it to the church office soon so that we can begin to build Traveler groups. Remember, there are no fees to participate, and we would love it if your child would bring a friend. | | |
