How we gather and with whom we gather is a big part of self-definition and living life. These days, we are discerning how to gather and with whom to gather with intention. How has our gathering shifted in this time period and what has remained the same?

- Next Week: Pretty Little Lies
In the wake of the Christmas holidays, what are some of the religious, cultural, theological and traditional "lies" that bother you? Are they Biblical mistranslations or cultural manipulations? In this new era of truth telling, what "lies" do you see getting a face lift? How could you revise a "truer" celebration? Email Rev. Michelle at edu@uuroc.org if you have ideas for our discussion, or topics you would like to know the "true" story behind.

Wednesdays | Midweek Meditation
Weekly Midweek Meditation sessions are back up each Wednesday at 11:30am! Look on the First Universalist homepage for details and a link! Note: There will be no Midweek Meditation on February 2! We will resume regular sessions on February 9!

A Note from your COVID Task Force
One element of the CDC’s recommendations to control the spread of COVID 19 is for individuals who have symptoms or have been in contact with someone with COVID to use self administered antigen tests. Covidtests.gov is a simple, accessible website for obtaining test kits free of charge. Check it out!

Update on First Universalist’s Response to
Increases COVID-19 Cases in Monroe County
The COVID Task Force together with the Executive Committee of our Board has concluded the risks are at present too great to continue with in-person Sunday services, Thursday concerts, and meetings in our building for the remainder of January. Effectively immediately, all Sunday services and meetings will revert to online only. Throughout the month our Board and Task Force will monitor the situation carefully and make decisions about next steps. The Board will give an update during the last week of January regarding plans beyond January 30.

The decision was a hard one to make, as we have been so delighted to return to our building. On the other hand, we welcome the chance to be together again as we stay safely in our homes and see one another on our screens.

In the meantime, we urge you to get your booster shot if you have not already done so, and wear KN95 masks or better for protection when in public.
