9:15 am Drop-In Discussion: Medical Aid in Dying : One of the most controversial topics at the NYS Legislature is medical aid in dying legislation. What are the pros and cons--and the moral basis for support? Dick Gilbert, member of the Compassion and Choices Clergy Advisory Council, will lead the discussion.

The Ministerial Search Committee is excited to announce that Rev. Lane Campbell is our candidate for our next minister! Please plan to meet her when she visits for Candidating Week, April 28th to May 6th. She will lead the service on two Sundays, April 29th and May 6th. After the service on May 6th, we will hold a special meeting to vote on calling her as our minister. Thus Do We Covenant: Stewardship 2018

Thank you, thank you! Most of our members and friends have made a pledge to support the 2018-19 budget, and we had a wonderful celebration with pie on Stewardship Sunday. Look for Stewardship results on the bulletin board outside the sanctuary. Roc/ACTS: The Annual Banquet and Silent Auction

Benefit Piano Recital on April 29th


Keith Stott will present a recital of his compositions plus two songs by his piano teacher Leah Murphy at 1:00 p.m. in the sanctuary. This recital was offered at the Service Auction as item A7 for a cost of $10.00 per person. Many seats are still available. You may pay cash at the door or make a check payable to the church and mark Service Auction on the memo line. All proceeds will benefit church programs. Hope to see you there!

Cozy Night Supper

S AVE THE DATE: The Interfaith Alliance of Rochester (TIAR) Annual Event: “Hope For The Poor And Vulnerable: Poor People’s Campaign,” Sunday, May 6th from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Jewish Community Center, 1200 Edgewood Avenue, Rochester, NY 14618 (note NEW LOCATION). The speaker will be Rev. Emily McNeil, Executive Director of Labor Religion Coalition and co-chair of the NY State Poor People’s Campaign followed by a panel discussion and comments from the floor. Free and Open to the Public (disabled access).
INTERFAITH IMPACT OF NYS: Interfaith Impact of NYS will hold its annual Advocacy Day in Albany Monday, May 7th. The three main issues to be addressed are (1) the Climate Change and Community Investment Act; (2) HALT solitary confinement legislation and (3) access to voting. Meet your representatives and their staffs, work with other activists and experience what democracy looks like in the state Capitol. Visit the IINYS website at  www.interfaithimpactnys.org . CHURCH LIBRARY AND BOOKSTORE: Books for Browsing, Borrowing and Buying. The First Universalist library and bookstore are open each Sunday during coffee hour.  We have a lending library, a discount bookstore, a free children's bookshelf, a free magazine exchange, and sometimes free books.
LITTLE FOOD PANTRY:  Our Little Free Library ‘Food Pantry’ supplies are running low. Our neighbors in need were very appreciative for the snacks and water that were available for them during the winter months. We are in need of healthy snack foods as well as dried fruits, crackers, puddings, and water. Please leave your donations in the volunteer office. Thank you.

Please assume that any incoming email message asking you to send the church’s money (or your own!) anywhere might be fraudulent. Do not reply to such a message, or click on any internet links appearing in the message; instead, forward it to suspicious@uuroc.org and delete it from your in-basket. It will be reviewed to determine whether any follow-up is needed. Thank you!
BLUE RECYCLE TOTE:  The church is looking for help moving the large blue recycle bin to the sidewalk on Monday afternoons, for pick-up early Tuesday mornings. It helps to live or work nearby.
