Jan. 14 | Flush Forum: 24/7 Toilet Access
Saturday, January 14 at 1pm in the sanctuary and via Zoom. To become the welcoming city that Rochester would like to be, it must have 24/7 restrooms available to the public. For example, Washington Square Park where numerous rallies and public events like the annual Dachshund Parade have no public facilities nearby. Rochester's homeless population have no place to "go", and so use local church grounds, sidewalks, and landscaping as their toilets. The need for 24/7 restrooms in downtown Rochester is real. A moderated panel includes local leaders who work with the homeless population, Fairport Mayor Julie Domaratz who has had success in providing 24/7 restrooms, and a speaker from Portland, Bryan Aptekar, will provide vision and discussion on helping Rochester succeed.
