Jean Ott is the presenter, with guest Ellen Hickory Smith, Executive Director of KOP. Jean will discuss her volunteer work with KOP. Ellen will give a quick overview of the organization. KOP is a nonprofit organization which provides comprehensive resettlement assistance to our wartime allies, known as SIVs. They were former local interpreters and support personnel of the U.S. government in conflict zones. Because of their employment in support of the United States, their lives are in danger. Mr. Robinson will share an interpretation of Psalm 30:5 “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” What does it take for the joy to come? We will create a collective meditation on enduring the long night of racism to get to that glorious morning together. This series of dialogues creates a brave space to learn, grow, and act toward antiracism, especially concerning the inherent worth and dignity of every person.
