10:30am Sunday Service: Risking a Rest

Rest is an essential need for all living things, but when we’re caught up in a system of over-production and over-consumption, rest can feel like a risk. How do we reclaim our need to rest?

Special Element: Pajama/Cozy Clothes Sunday!

Speaker: Rev. Eileen Casey-Campbell

Each Sunday, we will have several large-print copies of the order of service available. If you would like one, please ask an usher.

Upcoming Events &
Additional Announcements

Tuesday, Oct. 28 | Drop-In Discussion: Open Topic

Let’s take another opportunity to discuss whatever is on our minds lately, the challenges facing us and any good news, and to continue our brain-storming around suggestions for discussion topics and presenters going forward. John Lukes will moderate. Drop-in Discussions meet via Zoom on Tuesday nights from 6:30-7:30pm. Look on the First Universalist homepage for details and a link, or click the Zoom meeting link in this blurb title!

Thursday, Oct. 30 | Eastman at Washington Square: Eastman Harmonie

Eastman at Washington Square Concerts are in our sanctuary on Thursdays from 12:15 to 12:45pm. Oct. 30 is “Eastman Harmonie”: Enjoy the harmonious sounds of the Eastman Harmonie, wind chamber ensemble comprised of selected Eastman students, as they perform music by Mozart and Berger. Admission is free!

Saturday, Nov. 1 | Church Fall Cleanup!

Join us in stewardship and community for our Fall Cleanup Day! On Saturday, 9am to noon, we'll roll up our sleeves to tend to our shared spiritual home—tidying, fixing, and caring for the spaces that nurture us all year long. Whether you have a handy heart or just a willing spirit, there's something for everyone. Come for the work, stay for the fellowship!

Tuesday, Nov. 4 | Reminder: Vote on November 4!

As Unitarian Universalists, we believe in the power of every voice and the importance of democratic participation. Your vote is a reflection of your values—justice, equity, and compassion in human relations. Let’s shape a future grounded in love and accountability. More info for Rochester voting can be found here, and a sample ballot can be found here! Don’t forget to make your voice heard on Tuesday, November 4!

Adopt-a-Family for the Holidays

As we've done in past years, our church will provide gifts for a family whom Family Promise of Greater Rochester has sheltered. If you would like to participate in providing a gift on the family's wish list, please contact fpgroc@uuroc.org for more information.
