10:30am Sunday Service: Be Gay, Do Crime

What is required of our justice-seeking hearts in a society that increasingly insists on making queerness criminal? And what sort of gifts can a queer-er theology offer to us all?

Speaker: Rev. Eileen Casey-Campbell

Masking in the First Universalist church building is now optional, please respect any distancing requests by fellow attendees. A mask-required section of the sanctuary is designated for those preferring to stay masked.

Housing For All Interest Form!

Last Sunday, we asked you to fill out a checklist of proposed projects for Housing For All. If you missed it, we still want to know your interests! Please pick up a paper copy of the list titled “Group Projects - Interest Areas” at either entrance to the sanctuary, fill it out and leave it in the box at the front of the sanctuary. Or fill out the online form here. This is to indicate interest, not a commitment. We want to hear from you, whether you’re a long-time member or new to the church. Questions? Ask Marti Eggers or Chris DeGolyer.

Saturday, February 10 | Article 2: What Are Our UU Values and Why Are We Getting Rid of the Principles?!?!

The UUA has been working for the past three years on a statement of our shared UU values, held in Article 2 of the UUA bylaws. A change is coming to Unitarian Universalism that would remove the 7 Principles from the bylaws and replace them with stated values that are shared in Unitarian Universalism. As a vote will come before General Assembly this June, Rev. Lane-Mairead and Rev. Michelle will be leading a workshop on Saturday, February 10, from 10-11:30am so you can learn more. Please join in the discussion online or in-person!

Sunday, February 18 | Membership Committee: Listening Session!

In preparation for membership growth initiative, the membership

committee is going to conduct a listening session with the congregation on February 18, 2024 after the service. Please plan to attend. Your input is needed. This session will help us prepare for the membership consultant. Three questions that will be discussed are

  1. What does our church have to offer new members?
  2. How are we willing to change to help our membership grow?
  3. Why do we want to grow?

Thursday, February 29 | Breakfast for All sponsored by Homeless Outreach Team
