Tuesday, May 9 | Drop-In Discussion: First Universalist Initiative for Racial Equity (F.I.R.E.) Events: Past and Present

Dr. Starsky Wilson (Executive Director of Children’s Defense Fund) spoke recently at Spiritus Christi. Based on the hymn “O God Our Help in Ages Past” (#281/ UU Hymnal), he hearkened back to historic struggles and its future hopes for children. Where are we NOW in terms of helping children grow into being good citizens? Theo Munson presents. Drop-in Discussions meet via Zoom on Tuesday nights from 6:30-7:30pm. Thursday, May 11 | Eastman at Washington Square: Ensemble Mágica

Eastman at Washington Square Concerts take place on Thursdays at 12:15 to 12:45pm in our sanctuary. May 11 is "Ensemble Mágica": Eastman students Eric Bergeman, flute, Django Klumpp, guitar, and Sunshine Quan, harp, will perform music by Tōru Takemitsu, Maximo Pujol, and Nino Rota. Admission is free!


Friday, May 12 | Cozy Night Supper, 6-8pm

A potluck and program favorite at First Universalist. In the first hour we eat. In the second hour we'll consider one of the primary values of Unitarian Universalism: Transformation! Families are welcome! Childcare provided if you RSVP by May 5. RSVP with what you intend to bring to Rev. Michelle at edu@uuroc.org.


Saturday, May 13 | Afternoon with Reverend Mother

Join Rochester’s own Reverend Mother of "Nunsense" acclaim as she remembers mothers and others. Rev. Mo has performed for years to sold-out audiences. She guarantees to bring you a new understanding of nun fun! Held in the First Universalist Sanctuary from 3-4:30pm. Reservations and free-will donations appreciated! Please contact Elizabeth Osta to make a reservation. 


Sunday, May 14 | Book Group: “We Were the Mulvaneys”

Our book group selection for May is "We Were the Mulvaneys" by Joyce Carol Oates. The Book Group will meet at noon in the Chalice Room. It is a book not to be missed. Questions? Contact bookgroup@uuroc.org.

The UUA General Assembly is meeting online and in-person on June 21-25 in Pittsburgh, PA. Our congregation can send up to 4 delegates, so please let the Nominating Committee know if you are interested by emailing nomcom@uuroc.org.
