Tuesday, August 30 | Drop-In Discussion: Queer Theology Revisited
Our July 10 sermon, “Queering Unitarian Universalism” generated great interest and questions. Let’s dig a bit deeper: “To queer something is to take a perspective outside of the binary, outside of either/or. What could this bring us when we queer Unitarian Universalist theology? . . . let us explore the intersections of queer theory and what we believe.” Rev. Lane-Mairead Campbell will lead this discussion. Drop-In Discussions are virtual! We meet on Tuesday nights from 6:30-7:30pm. Look on the First Universalist homepage for details and a link, or click the Zoom meeting link in this blurb title!

Sunday, September 11 | Book Group: "The 1619 Project" by Nikole Hannah-Jones: Part II!
Yes, the book for this month is the same as in August! There is so much to unpack, we decided to give it two months of discussion instead of just one. There are several options for reading available which should give you a variety of choices. The hardcover or kindle is the longest and most complete version. However, there are also summaries and a New York Times article if you're pressed for time and/or want to explore other forms of discussion around the topic. Please join us September 11 at 11:50am in the Chalice Room for a lively discussion!
Saturday, September 17 | Urban Garden Celebration
Celebrate Urban Gardens on Saturday, September 17. The First Universalist Church Community Garden will join others inviting visitors to see what city gardening can look like. There will be a master list of participating gardens that you might want to stop by. Come visit your own garden and others, and meet people who want to make Rochester greener.
October 2 | In-Church Drop-In Discussions to Resume!
Drop-in discussions will resume in the Chalice Room starting at 9:15am, on Sunday, Oct. 2, and will continue to be held there on the first Sunday of each month until further notice.
