10:30am Sunday Service: The Decorations of Our Life

The longer we live, the more we accumulate. If we really think about it, much of our lives are shaped by what happens to show up in them. We will examine just how much of who we become is shaped by circumstances beyond our control.

Speaker: Peter House

Each Sunday ushers will have several large-print copies of the order of service available. If you would like one, please ask an usher.

Tuesday, July 15 | Drop-In Discussion: "The View From The Mountaintop” - Rev. Bill Sinkford (2 of 3)

“We drink from wells we did not dig and warm ourselves at fires we did not kindle. What strength can we draw from the past as we work toward our vision for the future? The church is a community of both memory and hope.” These words by Rev. Sinkford preface his mountain-top vision of how our past and our future are interconnected. Please come watch this 17-minute sermon with us and discuss your thoughts and reactions. Drop-in Discussions meet via Zoom on Tuesday nights from 6:30-7:30pm. Look on the First Universalist homepage for details and a link, or click the Zoom meeting link in this blurb title!

Saturday, July 19 | Rochester Pride Parade!

The parade starts at 11am at Science Parkway (off the very south end of South Ave) and proceeds north down South Ave to Highland Ave. Our group is entered as Unitarian Universalist Churches. Our group will assemble at position #157 and should be assembled at 10:30am. Free parking is available at MCC with shuttle service provided to Science Parkway and later Highland Park throughout the day. See you all there for this exciting, and necessary, event of inclusion!

Sunday, July 20 | July Social Justice Plate Offering: 490 Farmers

Our July Social Justice Plate Offering is designated for 490 Farmers. 490 Farmers seeks to learn alongside Rochester residents and youth to build community, hold land in common, and foster food sovereignty through urban agriculture. Guided by principles of mutual aid, they aim to steward a space where all feel welcome and integral to this mission, pushing our city toward a more resilient and equitable future. Please contribute as generously as you can to support this important work. For more info, visit their website 490farmers.org.
