10:30am Sunday Service | A Welcoming Entryway
When have we desired welcome? And where have we found it? This service explores moments of truly feeling welcomed as your full self alongside moments when the welcome has fallen short or felt inauthentic or even downright judgmental.

9:15am Drop-in Discussion | Open Discussion:
Even in the absence of a pre-planned, intriguing topic, we always end up with a great conversation! Don’t miss it!

Tuesday, April 9 & Wednesday, April 10 | Faith Dev. Program - Soul Practices
The Spirit in Practice  Faith Development Program will meet this Wednesday April 10 from 6:30-8:30pm in the Clara Barton lounge to consider  Soul Practices: spiritual practices that exercise our creative selves. Participants will have several  creativity stations  to choose to interact with, and are welcome to bring their own creative project to share. The same session will be offered at the Irondequoit Public Library this Tuesday April 9 from 2-4pm. Rev. Michelle Yates facilitates. Walk-ins are welcome.

Friday, April 12 | Earth Day Cozy Night Supper
5:30 Potluck Dinner, 6:30 EcoJustice Social Justice Program.
Place settings, silverware and drinks provided. Please sign sheet in the Clara Barton Lounge or on the hall bulletin board or contact the Church Office to let us know you’ll be attending. This allows us to set up tables, chairs and place settings for all. Hope to see you there!

Friday, April 26 | Passover Seder
This year’s Passover Seder will be a true reflection of the spirit of the holiday, “Welcome the stranger because you were a stranger in Egypt”. The potluck style dinner will be held in the Clara Barton Lounge at 6:30pm on the last evening of the holiday (rather than the traditional first). All are welcome to an evening of songs and readings (including school-age children and teens). We ask for sign-ups in advance to help with prep of the traditional table settings, decorations, special foods, and beverages. Please find our sign-up table with more info at coffee hour the next few Sundays until April 14. To help with the event, please contact Lew Ward-Baker at 244-6968 or patnlew@rochester.rr.com

On April 28th we will be reviewing the book 'An American Marriage' by Tayari Jones. Previously we had stated that the book 'Educated' by Tara Westover would be our April selection. At this time that plan would not be the best one so we will save that for a future date. Sorry for the confusion!

We Need You! | Wayside Pulpit
We need a talented individual to take charge of the Wayside Pulpit signs in front of our beautiful church! Help get our UU message out to countless pedestrians and motorists who pass by each day! Come in and update the signs on your own time, and be a part of the inner workings of First Universalist. If you have been looking to get involved without committing to a committee, this is the perfect opportunity! Contact Rev. Lane Campbell (Minister@uuroc.org) to find out more info!

Social Justice Plate Offering
The National Coalition Building Institute* provides leadership training in Community settings to help facilitate diversity in an atmosphere
where everyone can flourish and grow. They teach through
workshops to curb bullying and promote team building. Please
be as generous as you see fit this Sunday morning.
*This is a national group and we are making an exception this month, will return to our local groups next month. Suggestions always welcome!

Call for Gardeners!
First Universalist has received a generous donation of large outdoor planters. We need to have a design party to decide how to incorporate flowers and additional vegetable spaces into our existing garden in the southwest alcove of the church. Please help! An ongoing commitment is not required. We will also need waterers, weeders, harvesters. Please contact Sarah Singal if you can assist with any of these actions at garden@uuroc.org.
