10:30am Sunday Service: A Fool’s Errand

A service on the beauty and gifts of embracing the persona of the holy fool. You are invited to step off the edge, into the unknown, like the tarot image of The Fool, to choose the spirit of my favorite holy fool Ms. Frizzle for this new ministry: take chances, make mistakes, and get messy.

Speaker(s): Rev. Eileen Casey-Campbell

Each Sunday ushers will have several large-print copies of the order of service available. If you would like one, please ask an usher.

Sunday, August 24 | Social Justice Plate Offering: Friends of Ganondagan

Our August Social Justice Plate Offering is designated for Friends of Ganondagan, a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) Corporation created in 1989 as a private educational partner to the Ganondagan State Historic Site. It is the only New York State Historic Site dedicated to Native Americans, and the only Seneca town developed and interpreted in the US. They are an internationally recognized resource for Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) history, culture and living traditions that express universal ideals of peace cooperation and respect for each other and the natural world. Please contribute as generously as you can to support this important work. For more info, visit here.

Sunday, August 24 | Building Tour

Are you curious about the history of our building? Would you like a tour? Michael Scott, long-time member of the House Committee, would be happy to tell the story, show folks around, and answer any questions after the Sunday service on August 24.

Reminder about bikes

Please do not bring your bicycles into the building on Sundays between 9am and 1pm. They can be an impediment to full accessibility. Bike riders can use the two bike racks across Court St. by the Innovation Square building. Bicycles can be brought inside the building at any other time.

Opening for Childcare Assistant

If you know someone who would enjoy working with children alongside our faithful childcare leader, Carol Williams, for two hours each Sunday, please share this link with them. Interviews will be scheduled for mid to late August. Questions should be directed to Rev. Michelle at edu@uuroc.org with “Childcare” in the subject line.
