MYSTERY BIKE

Parked inside the church office for the past few weeks has been a very attractive multi-speed bicycle. From the adjustment of the seat, the owner is most likely fairly tall. Numerous attempts to find the owner have been unsuccessful --- visitors, members, organizations who rent out space --- no luck anywhere.
NOTE: The bike style is as pictured, but it's RED . Any information would be appreciated.
LUUNCH BUUNCH
The Luunch Buunch is an informal gathering of folks from First Universalist at a local restaurant about one Sunday a month. The December 10th gathering will be at Flavors of Asia, and on January 7th it will be held at Pita in College Town. Everyone is welcome! Please contact Joyce Gilbert with any suggestions for other restaurants.

FROM THE MINISTERIAL SEARCH COMMITTEE

The MSC was delighted to see so many members and friends at the Oct. 30 Beyond Categorical Thinking workshop with Keith Kron. Keith is the director of the UUA transitions office and the person who will be talking to ministers in search about our church. Your willingness to come out on a rainy night demonstrated what an engaged and thoughtful congregation this is, and warmed the hearts of your search team! Your support is deeply appreciated.

TIME TO ORDER YOUR HOLIDAY POINSETTIAS

Orders for Poinsettias will be taken following the Sunday service on November 26 th and December 3. The cost is $8 each. If you provide an “in memory of” name when you purchase the plant, the names will be included in the December 24th Order of Service. Following the Christmas Eve service you can take your plant home with you, or leave it at the church to be distributed by the Caring Committee.
HOMELESSNESS ON OUR DOORSTEP
The board continues to listen and discuss what to do about the homeless neighbors who use our church alcove as a shelter, often raising sanitation and, at times, safety concerns. Our position has been one of tolerance consistent with our First Principle and our mission to serve the community. Some in our church feel that we are not doing enough to help these neighbors. Others feel that we are taking undue health and safety risks by allowing them to stay in the alcove, and that asking staff or volunteers to clean up after them is not a good or fair thing to do.
A number of ideas have been raised for how to deal with our homeless neighbor situation either by ourselves or in conjunction with other organizations. If you have feedback or ideas, please share these with a board member.
If you see drug use, public urination/defecation or feel threatened on church property, call 911 immediately to ask for help.
UU & YOU : AN INTRODUCTION TO OUR CHURCH

Held the first Sunday of each month , at 12:00 pm in the Choir Room (room 25, second floor). Join us for an informal informational gathering especially designed for visitors and friends who want to know more about us and our liberal religious movement. This roughly 45 minute get-together offers attendees an opportunity to get to know one another and this congregation better, and includes a quick overview of Unitarian Universalist history and principles, and the story of this congregation. No registration required --- just drop in when you can.
