CANCELLED: New to First Universalist?
Our Getting Connected series, May 18, 25 and June 1, has been cancelled.
Tuesday, May 23 | Drop-In Discussion: American Poverty: A Disgrace
Let's talk about how most of us middle-class Americans benefit from poverty. From cheap clothes and cheap grocery stores to low wages we really need to have poverty to live the life we have. Bill Elwell presents. Drop-in Discussions meet via Zoom on Tuesday nights from 6:30-7:30pm. Look on the First Universalist homepage for details and a link, or click the Zoom meeting link in this blurb title!
Wednesday, May 31 | SOLD OUT Rochester’s Black Freedom Struggle
F.I.R.E. invites you to an evening with "Strike the Hammer" author Laura Warren Hill from 4-7pm. Seating is limited, and we are currently at capacity!
Sunday, June 4 | Save the Date: First Universalist Annual Business Meeting!
This year we will be conducting the meeting in a hybrid format, in-person and Zoom to include everyone. Our church’s bylaws require us to meet each year to approve our budget and appoint our leaders. In addition, this year we will be deciding on two major issues: the focus of our church’s Social Justice Initiative, “Housing for All”, and the allocation of funds from a recent bequest for a new Membership Initiative. Full participation of our membership is important! Childcare will be provided. More info will be coming your way about the specific start time. —Steve Munson, Board President
