10:30am Sunday Service | From You I Receive, To You I Give
An annual celebration of the flower communion, a practice that celebrates the diversity of human community while also honoring generosity. Leading up to the service, please take a photo of your favorite flower and send it to Rev. Lane, so we can still observe flower communion in a new way.
Speaker: Rev. Lane Campbell

We are cancelling in-person worship for the foreseeable future, and taking our worship experience completely online via Zoom. We will hold on-line services each Sunday at 10:30am (our regular time).

Help Our Summer Garden!
Call for garden watering. The front garden is blooming and we will need waterers starting in July. Please contact Sarah at garden@uuroc.org.

June 1 to July 31 | RAIHN Matching Donation Fund
Help support families in need! While congregations are closed due to COVID-19, RAIHN* is still supporting houseless families including housing some in a cost-efficient motel. Funds are needed to
support the effort. An anonymous donor will match up to $3000 in gifts to RAIHN made between June 1 and July 31. This will be a tremendous help to families in need. Please consider a
donation. To donate online, go to the uuroc.org website and click on the donate button at the bottom of the homepage. In the “write a note” section under the donation amount please write “ RAIHN First Universalist”. Checks can also be made out to First Universalist with “ RAIHN First UU” on the memo line. Contact Marti Eggers, Ed Deller, Chris DeGolyer or Connie Valk for more details.

Joys & Sorrows
Please send your Joys and Sorrows to be read at our Sunday Worship service to JoysandSorrows@uuroc.org.

Note: When you email a joy or sorrow to us, you are giving us permission to read it aloud at our Sunday service and possibly publish it in this weekly email. Thank you!

Joys:
  • Joy from Carole Hoffman: 3-1/2 weeks into the total hip replacement, and finding recovery a very slow process, but it's getting there! Appreciate your caring.

  • Joy from Tom Williams: I had a successful shoulder repair on Thursday, May 28 to repair a torn tendon. Feeling good so far.

Sorrows:
  • From Jane Hickok: My cousin John Thomson died earlier this week in Florida after a long illness.

  • From David Damico and Janus Mary Jones: David's 95-year-old aunt has tested positive for COVID19 in a Louisiana nursing home. She is the family matriarch and the last of her 16 many siblings. Dora Mae James, or Aunt Doe, as she was always called, is a character. She had bright red hair, a strong opinionated personality that dominated all conversations. Doe never did any housework, survived 2 husbands, wore a satin house robe at home and always worked in high end women's clothing stores. Very French, very Catholic. We don't like to think of a strong woman like her broken and alone in a nursing home.
