10:30am Sunday Service: Life After Doom - Liberation

Brian McLaren's book, Life After Doom: Wisdom and Courage for a World Falling Apart, helps us imagine a way forward through climate disruption. Let's take a broader look at "doom" and consider some different kinds of wisdom.

Speaker: Rev. Peggy Meeker

Each Sunday, we will have several large-print copies of the order of service available. If you would like one, please ask an usher.

Upcoming Events &
Additional Announcements

Tuesday, Oct. 7 | Drop-In Discussion: The Doomsday Machine

Noam Chomsky says there are two existential threats to the survival of the human race - climate change and nuclear war. We hear little about the latter, even though the U.S. government is in an undeclared war with Russia, Iran and other countries and all the treaties and agreements aimed at preventing nuclear war have been dismantled. Phil Ebersole will make a presentation and lead a discussion of the danger of nuclear war. Drop-in Discussions meet via Zoom on Tuesday nights from 6:30-7:30pm. Look on the First Universalist homepage for details and a link, or click the Zoom meeting link in this blurb title!

Wednesday, October 8, 6-8pm | Facilitator Training

Do you currently facilitate a group at church, or would you consider leading a Connection Circle but you would like some training first? Join us from 6-8pm in person in the Clara Barton lounge at church or on Zoom (link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/86355615357?pwd=z6KniDyIfheaGjWpc5ab6vS6UzgF7N.1) for this hybrid training facilitated by Rev. Michelle Yates.

Sunday, October 12 | Monthly Food Ingathering

Our monthly food ingathering for the Community Food Cupboard! Low-sodium non-perishable food, toiletries, paper products, and cash are always needed and appreciated!
