Dear GVA North Families,
We had an absolute blast last Friday getting our 3rd–8th grade students excited for CMAS with our Retro Arcade Pep Rally! From games and cheers to our annual staff dance video, the energy in the building was incredible.
| | This is one of my favorite traditions we have here at GVA North, and it truly helps build excitement and confidence in our students as they head into state testing. | | |
We know many of our families also love watching our annual CMAS video, so we'd love to share it with you.

CMAS Starts Tomorrow, It’s Time to Level Up!
Our students and staff are ready to go, and CMAS testing begins tomorrow! We are confident this will be a strong testing season and appreciate your support at home.
CMAS Testing Schedule:
-
April 7–9: English Language Arts
-
April 14–16: Math
-
April 21–23: Science (5th & 8th) and Social Studies (4th & 7th)
You can support your child by ensuring they get a good night’s sleep and a healthy breakfast on testing days.
Our Kindergarten–2nd grade students are also joining the fun by writing notes to the older students, participating in our door decorating contest, and competing for the Quietest Class Award during testing days. Be sure to ask your younger students how they are supporting the older grades during CMAS. This pack continues to lift each other up!

Celebrating Our Assistant Principals
In honor of National Assistant Principals Week, I am proud to recognize Kathryn Shebeck, Crista Ortega, Tamaris Gonzalez, and Susana Cabrera, our outstanding Assistant Principals at GVA North.
Each of them makes a meaningful impact every single day. Their leadership, dedication, and commitment to our students, staff, and families do not go unnoticed. Whether they are supporting instruction, problem-solving, building relationships, or ensuring our school runs smoothly, they consistently go above and beyond. We are incredibly grateful for all they do for our community!

We are excited to celebrate our students as they reach important milestones! This year, we will be hosting three separate graduation ceremonies at GVA North in the gym, each beginning at 5:30pm.
Graduation Schedule:
-
May 18: 5th Grade Graduation (5:30-7pm)
-
May 19: Kindergarten Graduation (5:30-7pm)
-
May 20: 8th Grade Graduation (5:30-7pm)
Each ceremony will be a special opportunity to recognize our students’ hard work, growth, and achievements. Families of students in these grade levels will receive additional details from their teachers and the grade level Assistant Principal regarding arrival times, expectations, and any special information needed for the event.
We look forward to celebrating our students and honoring all they have accomplished this year!

Fun Run Fundraiser: From Finish Line to Playtime!
It’s time for our largest fundraiser of the year! This year, our school-wide goal is to raise $35,000 for a second playground.
Please be sure to create a My Booster account using your student’s PM class teacher or middle school advisory teacher.
Even if you don’t plan on fundraising, simply signing up can help our class earn a party! We also have fun and exciting prizes for students who individually raise money, which will be given out each week.

Official Donation Rally: April 8 – May 1
-
Fun Run Event Day: May 1
