GVA North Families,

We have several exciting events coming up, and I wanted to share some important information to help you plan ahead.

PTO Family Valentine’s Day Dance

Our Family Valentine’s Day Dance will take place on Friday, February 6th from 6:00–9:00 pm. Families should enter through the Middle School entrance, and the cost is $2 per person. Please note that all students in grades K–8 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the entire event. We are looking forward to a fun evening of music and dancing!

We’re 100 Days Smarter!

We are also excited to celebrate being 100 Days Smarter on Tuesday, February 10th! Students are invited to participate in our 100 Days of School Spirit Day by dressing like they are 100 years old. This is always a joyful and creative day, and we can’t wait to see the fun outfits our students come up with.

Valentine’s Day Parties

On Thursday, February 13th, we will have an Early Release Day, with the students dismissing at 12pm. Additionally, the students will be having Valentine’s Day celebrations in their classrooms. Teachers will be reaching out with more details surrounding these celebrations in the coming days.

If your family does not celebrate Valentine’s Day or you would prefer your child not participate, please contact your child’s teacher or myself at cbyrd@gvaschools.org. Alternative activities will be provided for students as needed. Our goal is always to ensure all students feel comfortable, included, and supported.

Mid-Year Communication Survey

As part of our commitment to strong family-school partnerships, we invite you to complete our Mid-Year Communication Survey Your feedback helps us continue improving how we communicate and support our community.

Important Upcoming Dates

  • February 10: 100th Day of School Spirit Day
  • February 13: Early Release (Students dismissed at 12:00 p.m.)
  • February 15–16: No School – Mid-Winter Break

We truly appreciate being able to celebrate these special moments with our GVA North families. Wishing everyone a wonderful week ahead and hoping we all get to enjoy some great Super Bowl commercials this weekend!

Warmly,

Ms. Byrd 🐾💙

IMPORTANT FORMS DUE!

Intent to Return for the 2026-2027 School Year

It may feel early, but we are already preparing for the 2026–2027 school year, and we need to know your family’s enrollment plans.

For planning purposes, all families are asked to complete the Student Intent to Return Form by February 15, 2026, to reserve a spot for their student. This information is critical for staffing, classroom planning, and ensuring a smooth start to next school year.

No additional registration or documentation is required at this time for current students, as long as the Student Intent to Return Form is submitted.

Please note: Students who do not have an Intent to Return form submitted by February 15, 2026, cannot be guaranteed a spot for the 2026–2027 school year.
