As we prepare to join in celebration with those we love around the Thanksgiving table, I want to take time to let you know how thankful I am for the gift of this congregation, and the members who make up this community of faith at Grace.
In our first year together, you have taught me much about resilience, being open to the movement of the Holy Spirit, and offering ourselves in union with Christ's work in the world. We have had much to celebrate together in the past few weeks, including a successful and hope-filled Consecration Sunday, which has put us on track to do great ministry in 2018!
God bless you and those you love this holiday season. I look forward to journeying with you through Advent as December begins.
PARKING LOT CONSTRUCTION - 2ND PHASE IN EFFECT FOR THIS SUNDAY
NEW ENTRANCES FOR WORSHIP AND CHURCH EVENTS
By this Sunday, November 26th, the second phase of our parking lot construction will have started, affecting where we park and which entrances we may use.
Grace UMC parking will be behind GBGM's primary office building
(former CoC/green building) in the newly renovated lot
(former lower lot/playground).
You may continue to
enter Grace from Ponce, for the Sanctuary and Grace Cafe - which is also the
entrance for differently abled access. The main entrance will move from the glass doors facing the middle lot to
one glass door under the bridge close to the newly renovated parking lot.
NOTE: this entrance is
not accessible for the differently abled.
If you have any questions, please contact the church office
(office at graceonponce.org or 404.876.2678).
PECANS & CHRISTMAS CARDS!
Pecans and Grace Christmas Cards are available again this year in the Grace Cafe, before and after worship.
Again, pecans are $10/lb, for either halves or pieces. Cards are $5/packet (20 cards/packet). The proceeds will benefit a Christmas project in Russia for orphans and needy refugee children and families. See Marcia Webb, Edna Young, or Patsy Woods to get your pecans and cards, or for more information.
NOTE: You may also make a donation to the project, which will be most appreciated! Mark your checks "For Russia."
GREENING OF GRACE & CHRISTMAS POINSETTIAS
Transforming the Grace sanctuary for Christmas is a big undertaking and we need all the help we can get. So, if you would like to lend a hand, please plan to attend on Saturday, December 2nd, 9am.
This day is always a wonderful one of fellowship and a great way to get to know one another better.
You can also help decorate the sanctuary by purchasing a poinsettia to the Glory of God, or in honor or memory of a loved one. We will publish a list of names. Each plant is $22 and can be purchased on Sundays or via the church office, by November 26th.
Any questions, please contact Robby Hollida via the church office (office at graceonponce.org or 404.876.2678).
