15 Nov 2017

What a memorable Consecration Sunday! We took time to share a meal and celebrate the generosity of our congregation together.

Based on your efforts, we have increased our 2018 pledges by 8% over 2017's pledges. Projected giving for 2018 compared to the last 12 months is up 3%. Another exciting fact is that we experienced a 20% increase in additional pledges over last year.

Let us all be thankful for all of our blessings and continue to pray for Grace UMC.

Thank you to all who helped make this time together possible, with a special shout out to Chef Jess, Robby Hollida, Barbara Anderson, Willard Hurst, Bess Walthour, Judy Phillips, and of course, Pastor Stacey for her leadership and guidance!

Pecans will be available again this year, beginning Sunday, November 19th, in the Grace Cafe, before and after worship.

Again, they are $10/lb, for either halves or pieces. The proceeds will benefit a Christmas project in Russia for orphans and needy refugee children and families. See Marcia Webb or one of our team to get your pecans or for more information.

NOTE: You may also make a donation to the project, which will be most appreciated! Mark your checks "For Russia."
Transforming the Grace sanctuary for Christmas is a big undertaking and we need all the help we can get. So, if you would like to lend a hand, please plan to attend on Saturday, December 2nd, 9am This day is always a wonderful one of fellowship and a great way to get to know one another better.

You can also help decorate the sanctuary by purchasing a poinsettia to the Glory of God, or in honor or memory of a loved one. We will publish a list of names. Each plant is $22 and can be purchased on Sundays or via the church office, by November 26th.

Any questions, please contact Robby Hollida via the church office (office at graceonponce.org or 404.876.2678).

If you have ever been to Sunday School, as a child or adult, Advent is the perfect starting place. Advent is a time of waiting and preparing for the birth of Jesus, filled with beautiful songs in scripture and appearances of angels.

This year, in our study, we will begin Advent a little early, this Sunday, November 19th. (Advent officially begins on Dec. 2nd.) Our head start will allow us to go deeper into our study and spend more time on areas we choose. The Wesleyan Quadrilateral (scripture, tradition, reason, and experience) will guide our time together as we prepare for the birth of the Messiah.

Everyone is welcome, and you do not have to attend every week - come when you can! When you are present, your voice is vital to our conversations. We meet at 10am, in the Living Room, on the 1st floor.
