Career Fair and Resume Prep Workshop

If you are feeling nervous about the upcoming virtual and in-person career fairs, that’s okay! Attend this presentation to learn how to effectively prepare for the upcoming career fairs. You will leave this presentation knowing:
  • The unique benefits of attending a career fair.
  • What career fair you should attend.
  • How to research and find participating organizations that align with your interests.
  • What to wear to a career fair.
  • How to stand out and introduce yourself to employers.
  • How to prepare an effective resume.


FREE Business Attire Pop-Up Shop
Open to all students in all majors

Hosted by the College Directors of Multicultural Student Success (DMSS) and funded by Student Government

Whether you need a shirt, tie or a whole outfit for an upcoming career fair or interview, they’ve got you covered – no questions asked. The pop-up shop will feature varying sizes and styles of gently-used business attire, accessories and shoes.

Free Business Attire Pop-Up Shop will be open to all ISU students.

Now Hiring: Video Intern
ISU Extension and Outreach Advancement is seeking a video student employee.

This is a paid internship. This position will require a full understanding of Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, and essential camera operation basics (proper exposure, composition, and audio). As well as working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and the
Microsoft Office Suite; and will be taught to use specific programs for ISU Extension and Outreach.

Duties within this position may include:
-Film and edit short staff training videos;
-Create closed captions for videos;
-Create short social media videos such as video teasers, GIFS, and short visual pieces that align with the ISU Extension and Outreach mission and follow brand guidelines;
-Assist video producer with productions (set-up, camera and/or audio monitoring, tear-down).

Job Skills / Requirements:
-Full understanding of Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere, After Effects and essential camera operation basics
-Working Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Microsoft Office Suite
-Able to work 20 hours per week

Successful candidates will possess strong organization skills along with the ability to initiate and manage multiple projects. Excellent written and verbal communication skills will be necessary in order to properly review documents as well as professionally communicate with
university staff. The candidate will also demonstrate the ability to work independently to accomplish a given task.

ClubFest and Volunteer Fair
ClubFest is an opportunity for students to browse through many clubs and organizations at Iowa State to find out how to GET INVOLVED on campus! While not all of Iowa State's 900+ student organizations can make it to ClubFest, a great sample will be at the event with informational handouts, displays, demonstrations, and giveaways to highlight their club and recruit new members!
