The Right to be Forgotten: Forget About It
|
|
The internet makes connecting with each other convenient -- and permanent. Our online postings help us celebrate the good times, but they also create a record of every mistake, action, and unkind word. Should there be a way to erase this history? Do Americans have a Right to be Forgotten? Join honors student Eva Newland as she shares her research on the Right to be Forgotten and why such a concept is likely incompatible with the First Amendment. The talk also will be streamed on YouTube.
Part of the First Amendment Series, Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication.
Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1:30-2:30 p.m. in 172 Hamilton Hall.
Public welcome. Refreshments provided.

Internship spotlight: Molly Blanco
|
The importance of being a local news reporter
"My internship experience offered incredible hands-on experience in the news industry, especially because I was able to report about such a wide variety of topics. I gained new skills and improved existing ones while producing valuable work to display in my portfolio. The internship was incredibly rewarding and valuable, especially since it was my first time working in person with other journalists. The experience of interviewing a source in person or collaborating with colleagues was taken away by the pandemic, but I finally got the opportunity to experience journalism in person this summer."
