All Greenlee Students Now Have a Faculty Mentor!
Your faculty mentor will help link your academic choices with your career aspirations, as well as guide you through the required 499A internship. Your faculty mentor is available to you for professional advice, portfolio and project reviews, and to provide real-world career connections.
*All Greenlee students should have received an email on Aug. 25 or 26 with this information about their faculty mentor.
Okay, found my mentor. Now what do I do?
Reach out to them! Introduce yourself. Set up a meeting. Develop a relationship. They're there for you.

- As a Greenlee major, you get a faculty mentor from day one.
- The role of your faculty mentor is to enhance your development as a professional. The faculty mentor will help with connections, networking and supervise your required 499A internship.

The faculty mentor works with your professional academic advisor -- it's a team. (Check out how each can help you at Iowa State.)
- Mentoring is a flexible relationship. Discuss with your faculty mentor what works best for you. If you want to change to a different faculty mentor, we can accommodate your request. (Just head to the main office in 101 Hamilton Hall to be assisted.)

2022 Constitution Day Panel

Recent decisions by the U.S. Supreme Court have altered Americans understanding of privacy, freedom of religion and personal liberties. An expert panel will discuss the immediate legal effects and how other personal freedoms could be affected by upcoming cases.
Moderator:
Karen Kedrowski is director of the Carrie Chapman Catt Center for Women and Politics and professor of political science at Iowa State. She was recently named Campus Champion of the Year by the Andrew Goodman Foundation in recognition for her student voter engagement work.

Julie Roosa, J.D., is a lecturer in the Iowa State Department of Political Science where she teaches law and politics. She previously served as an adjunct assistant professor and the First Amendment Specialist at the Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication for four years. Roosa is a consultant on legal issues related to the First Amendment, and has taught classes in media law, First Amendment law, business law, constitutional law and criminal law.

Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation hiring communicators and graphic designers
Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation has two open internships this fall semester geared toward students interested in communications and graphic design.
Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation is a nonprofit conservation organization working statewide to protect Iowa’s land, water and wildlife. Both internships are open to undergraduate students. Pay is $15/hour and average 12 to 15 hours per week.
