Apply for the Dotdash Meredith Apprentice Program by March 25
|
The 2022-23 Dotdash Meredith Apprentice Program is a partnership between Iowa State University and Dotdash Meredith — America’s largest digital and print publisher — that places 10 Iowa State students in editorial and graphic design apprenticeships with national consumer media brands for an entire academic year. These paid positions offer students an opportunity to gain hands-on experience, build their professional portfolios, and make invaluable industry connections. Apprenticeships may also be used to fulfill academic internship requirements.
These apprenticeships are focused on content creation — editorial apprentices work alongside experienced editors, while graphic design apprentices work alongside art directors.
A few more details:
· Apprentices must be junior or senior status by fall 2022 and commit to working both the fall 2022 and spring 2023 semesters.
· Apprentices work 15 to 20 hours a week during the academic year.
· Next year’s apprenticeships include in-person editorial and graphic design positions with Des Moines-based media brands. Some opportunities may also be available for remote assignments with teams based in New York and other offices. We hope to be able to share more information about next year’s assignments at the meeting. Assignments vary each year, but previous placements have included Better Homes and Gardens, Allrecipes, Midwest Living/Meredith Travel Media, Successful Farming, Meredith Premium Publishing, Meredith E-Commerce, InStyle, Parents, Eating Well and more.
