On-campus vaccination clinics
Iowa State University is excited to open up more Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine appointments for students. It will be holding vaccine clinics for students at State Gym next week on Tuesday, April 20; Wednesday, April 21; and Thursday, April 22. To facilitate the best use of our vaccine supply we encourage you to sign up as soon as possible. We have a limited supply of vaccine doses, so appointments may fill quickly. We are hopeful to add additional clinics in the following weeks.

Reminder: You will need to return for your second dose on May 11th, 12th, and 13th respectively. Do not schedule a vaccine appointment at Iowa State if you are unable to receive both doses on campus.

Find more information, including the scheduling link, on Iowa State's vaccination web page.

Internships Insider
LAS Unpaid Internship Scholarships
LAS awards a limited number of scholarships for undergraduate students completing an off-campus unpaid internship. Applications for the Summer 2021 semester are being accepted from April 12 through May 9th here. Questions about internships? Contact LAS Career Services at lascs@iastate.edu.
COVID-19 and 499A internships in 2021
Because the impact of COVID-19 on employment remains uncertain, we’ve installed a safety net for 499A internships. While we anticipate most students will secure a 499A internship, we have a back-up plan if COVID-19 eliminates your options. If you’re graduating in 2021 but by mid-April are still struggling to secure an internship, please make an appointment with your faculty advisor to discuss the 499 summer “safety net” internship class.
Prior to registering for the summer course students must provide the following to their advisor:
  • Documentation of six targeted cover letters and applications
  • Updated resume
  • Updated portfolio
  • Proof of attendance at a career fair, or a meeting with someone at LAS Career Services
Once approved, your advisor will provide more info on how to register for this course.
How do I begin the 499A internship approval process?
Step 1: Obtain an internship offer.
Step 2: Complete an application form in CyHire.
Step 3: Meet with the internship coordinator.
Step 4: Follow up on tasks; monitor the progress.
Step 6: Go to work.

The 499A internship syllabus packet outlines each step in much greater detail. Check it out for more on the process.
