Internships, Jobs and Scholarships

KCCI 8 News internship

An internship at KCCI 8 News offers the chance to learn how a television newsroom works and build up your professional skills with mentorship from award-winning journalists. You will choose a career path and start doing the work of a producer, digital editor, reporter or photographer. Your work will be reviewed by a manager or professional mentor. The goal is to reach a level where your work makes it on-air or online, and you’re ready for your first job.

This is a paid internship with limited openings available. Each internship will be part-time during the fall and spring semesters, and full-time during the summer. Only those who intend to pursue a career in broadcast journalism should apply.

KCCI is currently taking applications for Spring and Summer 2023.

They will be in Greenlee on Friday, Sept 23, from 1-4 p.m.

To apply, contact News Director Allison Smith at arsmith@hearst.com or Executive Producer Ellie Mirmazaheri at Ellie.Mirmazaheri@hearst.com.
