Dear Friends,

On Sunday, we will be hearing a cherished passage from Isaiah that includes the words:“but those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”

What does it feel like to mount up with wings like eagles? Why did the author of Isaiah use this image? How might we participate in such an uplifting experience?

I look forward to looking deeply into this passage with you on Sunday.

GREEN TIP OF THE WEEK

HOW ABOUT A “GREEN" SUPER BOWL PARTY?

If you are hosting or planning to attend a Super Bowl party on Feb. 11 (yes, we know the Patriots are kindly allowing other teams to play this year!), how about trying to make the party as “green” as possible. With a little extra thought and preparation, perhaps we can be just a bit kinder to our Mother by reducing the number of single-use utensils and other party-ware which will just be trashed. Just a thought! Our Mother will thank you.

2024 will be the 15th year! of sharing our voices with the South Shore community to raise much-needed funds for Horizons for Homeless Children, a Boston area based social service organization whose mission is to “preserve the power of childhood” through their meaningful support services to marginalized children and families.
