The Executive Council has appointed a task force to evaluate the current bylaws pertaining to the structure and composition of Boards and to consider whether updates to the bylaws are needed in light of current church governance trends within HCC and more widely. Things the task force are considering include board size, term length, extending service terms, and other matters relating to the church's leadership. Members of the task force include Reverend Pete, Moderator John Pint, Assistant Moderator Kathi Blair, Parliamentarian George McKay, Executive Council Member-at-Large BJ Gorczycka, and Deacon Grant Pattison. If you have thoughts or ideas to share about the direction of church governance, please contact one of the task force members.The task force is hoping to have specific proposals for the congregation by the fall, for presentation either at a special meeting of the church or at the annual January Finance meeting.
