Sunday School Update

This week in church schoolThis week at church school we will be learning about the all-important lesson of sharing. What ways can we share with our siblings? Our community?
Please join us for songs, crafts, and stories! Friendly reminder to send your child with a sweater if it’s chilly.
Sunday, October 17 is our next Middle School youth group. We will be carving pumpkins! I would love to see your 5th, 6th, and 7th graders there! Email me if interested, and watch your inbox for details.
Miss Jen

Title Change for Jen DiMarzio

As our program year ramps up, our Board of Christian Education has approved a title change for our Head Teacher, Jen DiMarzio. She is now our Interim Director of Christian Education. Jen’s new title comes with additional hours and responsibilities. Please tell Jen “Thank you!” when you see her. We are blessed to have her help and leadership!

Senior High Food Drive

The HCC Senior High Youth Group will be collecting non-perishable items for the Hingham Food Pantry over the next two weeks. You can bring your items on Sundays 10/10 and 10/17 or drop your donations in the black box on the office porch at 366 Main St. This is a great chance for our youth to learn about hunger in our community and ways to alleviate it. Look for collection boxes in the narthex and Hale Fellowship Hall.
Items requested by the Pantry are: canned vegetables, canned fruit, crackers, cookies.
Jr. Choir rehearsals will be outside in the parking lot under the basketball hoop. We will meet about 10 minutes after church school is dismissed again this Sunday, singing for about 15-20 minutes We are preparing to sing in a Sunday service in October. Please contact Mr. B at with questions, concerns, or suggestions.

BLUE MARBLE KIDS videos were made especially for kids to learn about issues related to climate change. They were produced by a high school student from Maryland- and are very catchy. The six short videos focus on the topics of COMPOSTING, FOOD WASTE, and the importance of POLLINATION to our food supply. They are targeted to children but adults can also learn something as well. If you are parent, watch them with your child(ren) and discuss. These last two focus on POLLINATION and POLLINATORS - their importance and what we can do to encourage.

How Can We Help Pollinators?
