Who Created the Sound of American Movies

Max Steiner, Franz Waxman, and Erich Wolfgang Korngold were Jewish immigrants from Germany and Austria who created the Hollywood film music style in the 1930's. Their music represents some of the American Film Institute's top 25 film scores of all time.  Scenes include Steiner's Gone with the Wind, King Kong , and Symphony of Six Million ; Waxman's Bride of Frankenstein and Sunset Boulevard ; and Korngold's The Adventures of Robin Hood, The Sea Hawk, Captain Blood, and Kings Row.
