DEDICATE A DAY TO FOCUS ON CORE MEDITATION PRACTICES IDEAL FOR YOUR DAILY PRACTICE
Join us for a
Mediation Practice Day to be held on Saturday, Nov. 11 to focus on core mediation practices beneficial for daily practice.
The Meditation Practice Day will be held from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. and will include six 35-minute sessions, breaks and lunch. Each session will include setting a motivation, meditation on the given topic, dedication, and journal entry. Participants are asked to bring a journal and food for snacks and lunch. NOTE: This session satisfies the Intensive Practice Day requirement for "How to Mediate," for those working towards Discovering Buddhism certification. Meditations on the Mind, a full-day Intensive Practice Day required for "Mind and its Potential," will be held on Saturday, Dec. 9.

KADAMPA CENTER OFFERS LAMP OF PEACE AND PROSPERITY DURING DIWALI CELEBRATION
In an Inaugural Diwali Celebration held on Oct. 19 at the North Carolina Executive Mansion, Hemant Pandya represented the Kadampa Center as be joined fellow community leaders and friends from throughout North Carolina to make a light offering for peace and prosperity.
Diwali is an Indian festival that traditionally symbolizes the victory of goodness over evil and light over darkness. During the event, host Governor Roy Cooper and special guest Senator Jay Chaudhuri expressed sentiments of respect, value and inclusion as they marked this special occasion and invited participants to light a ceremonial ghee-wick lamp or deepak, symbolizing good over evil. May the aspirations for peace, prosperity and goodness be realized immediately.

Thank you to Eric Perry for being the sole Serenity Gardener helping Joey Gooch dig holes for our children to plant bulbs last Sunday. Eric and Joey worked hard to prepare the ground for over 400 bulbs! We'll all look forward to a burgeoning garden this Spring. The children will get a real kick out of knowing that had a part in making our grounds so lovely.
