"
You can see from your own life experiences how the environment can affect you. When you’re among peaceful, generous, happy people, you’re inclined to feel happy and peaceful yourself. When you’re among angry, aggressive people, you tend to become like them. The human mind is like a mirror. Therefore, it is very important to be conscious of your surroundings and how they affect your mind.
"

BE ANGRY
~ by His Holiness the Dalai Lama
It seems antithetical to use “angry” and “Dalai Lama” in the same sentence, much less the same book. However, in today’s world there’s a lot to be angry about: injustice, exploitation, racism, and more. The Dalai Lama teaches that anger arising out of compassion can motivate us to take action for change.

ANNOUNCEMENT OF SCHEDULE CHANGE
We have all enjoyed our Center's long open hours welcoming visitors, meditators, volunteers and members. This "open access" is a rarity among FPMT Centers. We ask for your patience as Kadampa Center temporarily remains closed during daytime hours as our Board of Directors and Center Manager develop a new "open access" schedule. Once completed, the new schedule will be distributed as soon as possible.
During this transition, volunteers with specific responsibilities may continue to access the Center.

More than a cupful of benefits!
Every month on the last Sunday, we gather together after the teachings to snack and chat with old friends while we introduce others to new ones. It’s a simple thing. Getting together because we like each other. The teachers encourage us to share what we’ve learned and socialize with those that support our practice in positive ways.
Sponsoring the Sunday Tea saves our Center funds that could be used in other beneficial ways.

Thanks go out this week to our seasonal cleaning crew of Gary Mickey, Elise Strevel and Joey Gooch. They gave up a gorgeous Saturday morning to clean our windows so the stupa view is unobstructed, and make our lobby and library tidy and bathrooms sparkle. We all appreciate your effort and look forward to the next seasonal cleaning day where we can come together as a team to offer service to our Center.
