"Good human qualities... honesty, sincerity, a good heart, cannot be
bought with money, nor can they be produced by machines, but only by the mind itself. We call this the inner light, or God's blessing, or human quality.
This is the essence of mankind."

~ His Holiness the Dalai Lama

BOARD OF DIRECTORS
MESSAGE FROM THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Our Annual Appeal has begun. The Board of Directors is working on a preliminary budget for 2018, and our expenses essentially are unchanged. However, because there will be no Light of the Path retreat and no income from the retreat, we will need an additional $37,000 to fill the gap. We hope members will increase their giving to maintain our Center's financial health.

With thanks and much love,
Kadampa Center's Board of Directors

MERIT MAKERS
Thanks go out this week to our fabulous Annual Appeal stuffers! We finished just in time for Thanksgiving 'stuffing.' Kim Lillig, Julie Quetel, Matilda Parker, Rene LeReau, Brian Dyer, Dianne Meyer and the two visitors that were up for volunteer work and a good chat. We appreciate you for all your joyful effort to get the appeal out before Thanksgiving. Thanks go to you!
SIDE NOTE
This year we gave being grateful around the table at Thanksgiving a new twist. “What will you do this upcoming year that you will be grateful for next year?” Our responses made us project about ourselves in the future. The high school senior was shocked by the thought ...
