"If you have fear of some pain or suffering, you should examine whether there is anything you can do about it. If you can, there is no need to worry about it; if you cannot do anything, then there is also no need to worry."
~ His Holiness the Dalai Lama

MAHAMUDRA: HOW TO DISCOVER OUR TRUE NATURE
~ by Lama Yeshe
Lama Yeshe tells us that mahamudra is “the universal reality of emptiness, of nonduality” and its unique characteristic is its emphasis on meditation: “With mahamudra meditation there is no doctrine, no theology, no philosophy, no God, no Buddha. Mahamudra is only experience.” Lama Yeshe’s words are direct, funny, and incredibly encouraging.

As we start our annual appeal, the board is concerned about the state of our finances. Kadampa Center exists because of the amazing generosity of those who give. That generosity is necessary for everything that happens at Kadampa Center. As we close out 2018, year-end giving is critical due to a significant deficit for this year. If you have not yet fulfilled your pledge, please do so as soon as possible. That would make a significant impact on the deficit.
We ask all our members to consider a one-time year-end offering, and to consider increasing your support for 2019.
With love and appreciation,
Your Board of Directors

Four wonderful volunteers make it possible for Kadampa Center to offer FPMT’s Discovering Buddhism, a two-year course that presents a solid grounding in 13 essential aspects of Buddhism. These four, our DB teachers, worked hard to qualify to teach the course, and donate hours of time preparing and presenting the classes. Big thanks to Steep Smith, Hemant Pandya, Don Brown and Robbie Watkins!
