Seven weeks after attaining enlightenment at Bodhgaya, India, the Buddha gave his first teaching at the Deer Park in Sarnath, India. He expressed his profound realizations of the nature of existence in the Four Noble Truths. Our observance of this teaching, referred to as the First Turning of the Wheel, Chokhor Duchen, includes an Animal Blessing and Liberation.
In this Saturday mini-retreat, Geshe Gelek will lead us in Tara retreat. Doing Tara practice clears obstacles in our spiritual lives and helps us attain our positive goals, both spiritual and mundane. Note that lunch breaks are only one hour, so there is very little time to go out for lunch. We will provide lunch at the Center. Registration is requested,

Let's practice and earn merit together!
In these sessions, Geshe Sangpo explains that creating merit is an essential part of Buddhist practice. When we build up our stores of merit, it removes obstacles in our spiritual lives. This makes it easier to understand the teachings and apply the Dharma in our everyday lives. Making merit is also great purification!

A little something to think on.
"There is an optical illusion about
every person we meet."
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

tag tsam (Tib); btags tsam (Wyl)
"The subtlest meaning of dependent arising; every phenomenon exists relatively, or conventionally, as a mere label, merely imputed by the mind.
"
(Wyl) or Wylie, is a method to transliterate the Tibetan script into Roman script.
