Welcome families! Our unique program offers weekly classes for children of all ages. Each month we explore one or more of the
16 Guidelines.
For members of the Wisdom Warriors class, ages 10-12, April's activities included the creation of a Gratitude Tree, with guidance from Elise Strevel. "We discussed and mediated on the countless sentient beings that are the cause for our happiness," Elise explained, "and for things and conditions in our lives that make our lives good."
"The children then were encouraged to write as many of these as they could on the ribbons. As they tied each ribbon on the tree, they explained what they were grateful for and why. Then we dedicated all of our offerings with the great wish for all sentient beings to have these and many other conditions for happiness such as we enjoy. Warriors discussed how, like with prayer flags, we imagine all the wonderful thoughts and causes for gratitude will move on the wind to all sentient beings."
Wisdom Warriors is a weekly class led by Elise Strevel for children ages 10-12. The focus in May is
Loyalty
and Responsibility.

Thanks go out this week to Colin Keenan and his buddy Will who helped move items from our storage unit to a different unit. We appreciate you coming out in the evening and assisting with joyful effort to help when needed. Colin is part of the Handy Helper Team and responded within minutes to an "ask for help." If you would like to be on the Team and offer aide with projects from small to large, email our Center Manager, Jill. Thanks again Colin and Will!

“Only carry what you can carry.” Geshe-la talked about this Tibetan saying in our Wednesday night class and it feels like a motto many of us need to hear. Not just ‘carry what you can,’ or ‘Only carry what you can,’ it’s ‘Only carry what you can carry.’ He explained if you place a 100 lb pack on a tiny squirrel it would ...
