Annual Congregational Meeting
AFTER WORSHIP THIS SUNDAY
| |
Every summer, we host a congregational meeting to vote on a slate of additions to our Elder Board brought forward by the Nominating Committee. This year, the committee has nominated Sunitha Chandy (moderator), Steve Searles, and Tanya Stanfield for the Elder Board, and Mike Roberts to join the Nominating Committee. Please join us in the Sanctuary right after worship this Sunday to hear about these candidates, and some other updates on the life of our church! It's a meaningful part of our shared life as a church. After our vote we'll head to Leslie Hall for pizza.
Can't make the meeting in person? You can vote absentee ahead of the meeting at the link below -- and the meeting will be available to watch on Zoom (the Zoom link will be on our web site the day of the meeting).
| | Come Ready to Celebrate the 'Happy Day' This Sunday! | | During Sunday's service, we'll have a special performance of 'Oh Happy Day' to celebrate some community baptisms! If you participated in the Easter choir earlier this year, you're welcome to join us on stage for this lovely song & expression of joy in the new life found through baptism. | | |

Thank You For Supporting Miles 4 Meals!
You Can Still Make Donations
| |
What a day! Our first-ever Miles 4 Meals Walk-A-Thon was a tremendous success, thanks to all of you. From the walkers who laced up their shoes to cover all four miles, to everyone who gave generously, your support means the world to Breaking Bread.
It was a joy to walk our neighborhood together, see familiar faces, and hear from the community we're so proud to serve. Every dollar raised goes directly to Breaking Bread's free weekly meals, along with groceries and supplies for neighbors who need them most.
If you weren't able to give on the day of the walk, there's still time! Our fundraiser remains open online this week, and every gift makes a difference. Thank you for showing up, walking with us, and helping us feed our neighbors.
| | Celebrating Graduate Sunday | Congratulations to the many graduates in our church family we celebrated in worship last Sunday! | | |

Sunday Morning Parking
Available every Sunday 9 AM - 1 PM
Purchase a Placard at the Welcome Wall
We’re grateful to have a convenient parking option just steps from the Sanctuary! Our primary parking lot is at Walter Payton College Prep High School. The entrance is at 281 W Oak Street, between Wells and Orleans, beyond the school’s baseball field. Look for our parking attendant when you arrive.
Important update:
We ask members and regular attenders to contribute toward the cost of parking at Walter Payton. You can choose the option that fits best for you:
- $10 weekly
- $120 for six months
- $200 annually
How it works:
- Pay online through our regular giving platform (select the 'Parking' fund).
- Placards will be available at the Welcome Wall — please place one on your dashboard when parking.
- We’ll begin enforcing this in March.
-
Parking for guests is free. After 2–3 visits, we’ll ask regular attenders to begin paying.
Elm Street Garage update:
Validated parking at the Elm Street Plaza Garage (69 W Elm Street) is no longer be available. You may still park there at the standard rate ($28.35 for up to two hours) through their platform Metropolis.

Live Storytelling with the Christian Century
Join former LaSalle intern Ross Allen for a special live storytelling event hosted by The Narrative Project of the Christian Century. Much like The Moth, the evening features live, true, personal stories—this time from the Century's 2025–2026 Storytelling Fellows, leaders from across the country sharing stories that shape a more inclusive and vibrant vision of faith today. Expect an evening of powerful witness and community, with snacks and an open bar.
