Worship Theme: God is worthy of our service.
Weaving Faith into Life: Children will seek to honor God with their service.
After Joseph was taken as a slave to Egypt, he became a servant in the house of Potiphar, one of Pharaoh’s officials. Joseph proved himself as a faithful servant, and Potiphar eventually put him in charge of his household. Then Joseph was unjustly accused of making advances to Potiphar’s wife and thrown into prison.
God had a plan for Joseph and continued to fulfill that plan, even when Joseph was imprisoned for something he hadn’t done. It was with God’s help that Joseph interpreted the dreams that eventually gained his release.
Throughout all of the challenges Joseph endured, he remained faithful and true to the Lord God. The truths, teachings and principles Joseph learned as a child and young man
became part of who he was as a child and man of God—once again witnessing to the fact that God’s principles taught in childhood can remain and help shape godly men and women.
