Sermon Title: This Changes My Family
Scripture:   Luke 1:39-45

This Sunday, we will look at the impact that Jesus makes on family. No doubt His own family was impacted by His arrival in our world. We are told in Luke 1:41, as Mary meets with her cousin Elizabeth, "When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit." However, this was not always the reaction of Jesus's family members during His ministry. So join us this week as we discuss the changes that Jesus can make within our most important relationships, our family.
PLEASE:
We need your RSVP now for Christmas lunch

So far, only 14 families have RSVP'd for our Christmas Candlelight Service lunch on Dec. 22 immediately after worship. So please take a moment to RSVP NOW to ensure we have the right amount of food on hand.

We will serve a BBQ lunch—pulled pork, chicken and ribs, with baked beans, macaroni and cheese, potato salad, collards and peach cobbler. To help defray the costs, we are asking for a $5 donation from all members. Guests and children fifth grade and under will eat free.

In addition to great food, we have a presentation that's so special we can't even talk about it now! So join us for worship and great fellowship on Dec. 22.

C-Groups to expand in 2020
God never intended for our spiritual journeys to be solo pursuits. He created us for community, and in Christ, we belong together. Our Connect Groups—or C-Groups as we call them—are about sharing, building authentic relationships, growing in faith and serving in ministry together.

We are excited to announce that we will offer a new C-Group tailored specifically for families with young children on Wednesday evenings starting Jan. 8, 2020. Hope and Jered Stills will host the group in their home and Jim Barber will facilitate. We will also have C-Groups and a nursery for children in the fifth grade and under.

Meanwhile, these other C-Groups will continue meeting in 2020, including:

  • 9:37—hosted by Art and Christy Stansberry on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m.
  • Men's Ministry—led by Rich Faulkner on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. at the iHop restaurant on U.S. 78.
  • YAMs—hosted by Will and Helene Tyler on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m.
  • Worship Ministry—hosted by Brandi Williams on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
  • First Friday—hosted by David and Jean Bugg on the first Friday of each month at 6:30 p.m.
  • Missions—hosted by Keri Duncan and Melinda Wilson on the fourth Sunday of each month at 5:30 p.m.
